Each southern winter Humpbacks frequent Exmouth gulf & surrounds migrating to and from the warm waters of the Kimberley. Here a mother surfaces to protect / comfort her calf - clearly not perturbed by this thrilled observer.

Frisky pod of Humpbacks cruising past Exmouth Cape - a mother with the job done escorts her new-borne calf at a more leisurely pace. Exmouth gulf & surrounds provide an ideal sanctuary for humpbacks during this annual migration to and from the primary calving ground in the Kimberley.
